i) Francis Brace, Bedford, gentleman Joseph Margetts, Kempston, clerk John Peirson, Kempston, yeoman (grandson and heir of Thomas Peirson) [as in X435/83] ii) Richard Worland, Kempston, labourer Francis and Joseph are trustees under will of Thomas Pearson, deceased (by will dated 8 October 1691) for sale of his copyhold estates in Kempston and personal estate, to satisfy debts and legacies and to pay: … to wife Rebecca - £20 per annum … to grandson William Shaw - £50 at age 21 … to grandchildren John and William Eames - £30 each when 21 … to daughter Ruffe - £10 … to daughter March - £20 - £5 for her separate use … to Anne and Elizabeth Ruffe, daughters of son-in-law Francis Ruffe - £5 each … to Francis Brace - £10 … to Joseph Margetts - £5 residue etc. to grandson, John Peirson at 21. Trustees to be his guardians until then John is now 21 so Francis and Joseph confirm to John - freehold property of Thomas Pearson John will pay debts of Thomas and legacies (most of which remain unsatisfied) covenant by John to levy fine unto Francis and ii) premises are subject to a mortgage of £100 assigned to William Foster, Bedford, doctor of laws, and another for £100 to William Joy, Bedford, gentleman, since deceased, and another for £100 to Thomas King of Colmworth, yeoman, deceased.
