    'P.S. The writer of this letter having permission from your son Richard to ask a favor of you begs you will please to write to his father and tell him that I long to hear from him tell him I hope he will forgive me for not writing to him myself a I was afraid he had Left Manchester or that some unforseen circumstance had happened to him as I have sent him several letters and have not recd an answer to any one of them tell him I am doing much better than ever I expected that I have a good Master and in fact that I never was so well off in my Life I have thank God my health and strength never had an hours sickness since I Left my fathers house though I have seen a good deal of Life and the ways of the World and now I am happy to say that I can see the hand of the Lord in sending me out here as all things work together for good to those that love the Lord Jesus Christ to them ar the called according to his purpose with this my Dear Frinds I leave you hoping you will grant me my request for your son Richard's sake and if there is any thing I can do for him in return for your kindness I will do it I see him every morning ans he supplys my master with milk and I hope it will not be Long before he has some cow of his own as I feel satisfied he will yet do well in the country he is my most intimate friend and I wish him well with all my heart Please direct to my father as follows To Mr William Joseph Thompson, 37 Queen Street, Salford, Manchester care of J C Williams Esquire, Rose Place, Nottingham send me a few lines when you write to richard and tell me if you have recived an answer Write soon W J Thompson
