… to Joseph Savill of St Neots, draper, and sons James Eland and John Hobson - all property in Eaton Socon - all freehold property in Abbotsley, Huntingdonshire on trust for sale also all copyhold property in Manor of Abbotsley - £2,000 on trust to be invested for maintenance of daughter Ann Hobson while a minor and at 21 or marriage (with consent of guardians) to transfer - £400 to be invested for benefit of housekeeper Jane Margetts in consideration of her faithful service, for life, and after her decease said sum to be part of his personal estate. Not to be under the control of any husband legacy duty to be paid out of residue of personal property … to Joseph Savill - 19 guineas … to sons James Eland Hobson and John Hobson, equally as tenants in common - residue of real monies - household goods, stock in trade - all other personal estate etc. said 2 sons appointed executors and Joseph Savill appointed executor in trust to assist them said 2 sons, and Joseph Savill, appointed guardians of daughter Ann Hobson signature (copy) of Francis Hobson witnesses: William Abbott, St Neots, auctioneer; James Moore, Nevil Day, clerks to Mr Day, St Neots will dated 27 Aug 1818 probate (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) 'sworn under seven thousand pounds' 5 May 1819
