Had nearly let the time go by for getting Seville Oranges. Those sent the best I could procure. The cask shall be sent with the empty hampers. Dare not put porter in it. Little news - we are going steadily on. I hear Mr Raban has been to Ampthill and that you have had apologies from Miss Brash respecting their conduct towards Marian. I think you should go with her when she returns. I prevailed on Mr Raban to go to Brompton where I knew he would get a serious lecture, which perhaps will be of service to the school. I hope Marian is paying attention to her studies. How is the rash on her face? Our cousin Thomson is in London. He is a plain but respectable man and bears strong family characters in his face, very like my father, but a sharper countenance
