This artificial collection was begun in 2017 on the proposal of a member of the public who felt that eulogies provide not only personal information about individuals not necessarily captured in records but also some insight into attitudes to death and remembrance. Depositors were invited to submit eulogies to loved ones who had had a connection with Bedfordshire to be added to the collection. It remained the decision of the depositor whether the eulogy could be published online via the catalogue or only made available through the searchroom and these decisions are reflected in the catalogue entries.
