    i) Elizabeth Pearman of Luton, widow ii) Alfred Pearman of Wallingford, Berkshire, wine merchant iii) Henry Pearman of Luton, wine merchant iv) Frederick Pearman of Luton, brewer v) said ii) and iii) whereas: Dan Pearman, late of Luton, wine merchant, deceased late husband of i) and father of ii), iii) and iv) made will dated 4 April 1850 (died 24 September 1857) and "when the same was discovered shortly after his decease", it "contained divers alterations and interlineations in the handwriting of the said deceased" believed to have been made by him prior to its execution but not attested by witnesses so not admitted as part of will at probate which was by ii) and iii) two of the executors at Her Majesty's Court of Probate 26 March 1858. House and premises appointed to i) for life, then to iii) and iv) jointly, also small house adjacent; inserted word "furniture"; directed business to be continued for benefit of i) and sons; son James to have testators life insurance (£1,295..5..0) and £1,000 from personal estate and ii) and iii) to be trustees for life of James "who was and is of weak intellect" and after his death to be divided between his surviving brothers or their children Wife to have £3.000 (altered to £2,000) iii) and iv) each to have £1,000 (altered to £1,500) ii) to have £500 to testators brother Edward 8s per week for life (added also brother David, wife and ii) and iii) executors Parties wish to carry out will as indicated by alterations; iii) and iv) wish to sever joint tenancy in houses and furniture and take equal shares. ii) and iii) have received £1,295..5..0 from said Policy and carried on said business but pecuniary legacies should come from business capital which would prevent carrying on business. Now: parties agree to construe will according to alterations viz: - i) to have f.h. messuage adjacent in occupation Thomas Islip, draper and household goods (except stock in trade) for life and iii) and iv) to be entitled to same subject to said life estate. - £1,295..5..0 from Policy and £1,000 in trust for James to be invested in 3% bank annuities after his death to be divided between such of ii), iii) and iv) as living or issue of any deceased. - Edward and David brothers of deceased each to have 8s per week for life - residue to be distributed amongst those entitled to it signatures 1) - iv) witnesses: John H Hill, 23 Throgmorton Street, London, solicitors William Batson, Luton, clerk William Stiles, clerk to Messrs H R Hill & Son, 23 Throgmorton Street, London
