- Scope and Contentexecutors: cousin John Orlebar of Hinwick, esquire; Mr Edward Rudd, Biggleswade, gentleman; Mr John Allard, now living with Mrs Jekyll a grocer in St Andrew's Holborn, gentleman and grocer; to each executor £100 and £10 for mourning and 20s for a ring to "his trusty" Alice Major £10 for mourning to every servant £5 for mourning his body to be buried in his mother's vault in St Andrew's churchyard, Hertford reciting jointure on wife Margaret of upwards of £400 which includes his dwelling house, after her death the property comprised in the jointure to go to said John Orlebar, esquire, and heirs male, and if none, then to Constantia, the present youngest daughter of John Orlebar, and if she should die, to testator's right heir reciting that in 1729 he purchased of Mr Daniel Draper of Royston, clerk, the reversion of a farm in Hatch now let at £38 per annum, this farm is to go to his housekeeper Alice Major for life, and all appurtenances in the parish of Northill. On her death £100 is to be raised from the farm for her daughter Elizabeth Major to Margaret Lambert, late servant of testator's mother, £5 a year for life to Society for Propagation of Christian Knowledge 3 guineas a year for 20 years to a Dissenting Free School in Bartholomew Street in Middlesex one guinea a year for 10 years to Henry Uthwhat, esquire, £20 for mourning and a ring value 20s to cousin Mrs Brandrat of Dunstable £100 to poor of Mogerhanger £5 to poor of Blunham £10, besides the £10 due on testator's note to Blunham poor he wishes to found a school at Blunham, so bequeaths £5 a year to be paid by executors out of personal estate as salary to a schoolmaster chosen by rector of Blunham and churchwardens and executors, payment to last for 99 years personal estate to be sold except for his collection of British, Roman, Greek etc. coins "Curiosity, Urns and Implements in the Heathen Superstition" (Library of Books excepted) to St John's College, Cambridge, they to provide catalogue to executors to Mrs Sarah Mason widow of Mr John Mason of Spaldwick, Huntingdonshire £5 witnesses: William Carrington, Thomas Weston, Henry Norris
