All the boarders were made the subject of a Place of Safety Order and placed in the care of the County Council. Controversy followed, as the children were moved to St Ethelreda’s Children’s home at the expense of the rate payers, as attempts were made with the Nigerian Embassy and as a result one of the parents came to Heathrow to collect 10 children. Four children remained at St Ethelreda’s. File includes expert witness statements, newspaper cuttings, correspondence and reports.
