- Scope and ContentMessenger from Stilton brought word that Dr. Daltrey found Papa rather better and thought the waters might do him good if he stayed a fortnight longer so Mama is setting out in a hurry. They are likely to go to Wimpole and wait for Papa and Mama there. During the summer she hoped to draw and paint views, read various Histories, study the Globes and Astronomy, try experiments with the Prisms, write Spectators etc. The Prisms have remained untouched, the Globes begun and deferred, but she has been reading Greek and Roman Story. Going to write to Miss Gregory about the poor Dean and press him to make use of Norris, [Dr. Gregory died 1767]. Postscript on Miss Francis's exhibition piece of embroidery, `It was a unanimous opinion...a great green parrot stuck upon a Perch in the middle of a round of Flowers would be the stiffest piece in the world.
