Scope and Content
i) Sir John Montagu Burgoyne, Sutton Park, baronet
ii) Henry Cleere Chaplyn, 53 Lincoln's Inn Fields, Middlesex, esquire
reciting that i) is entitled to Manor or Lordship of Sutton, subject to charges etc. affecting the same as are shown in underwritten schedule
i) has recently effected a policy of assurance on his life in £2,000 with Atlas Life Assurance Company dated 20 April 1859 and numbered 16472 subject to annual premium of £46..10s
now in consideration of £2,000 paid to i) by ii)
i) covenants with ii) to pay interest at 5% per annum so long as sum remains unpaid
also i) in respect of his life interest and his reversion in default of heirs male of his body, grants to ii)
… lands etc. as in X439/71
to hold subject to rent charge of £500 to Dame Amy Burgoyne in case she shall survive i) and mortgages etc.
i) also assigns to ii)
… policy of assurance before described and £2,000 assured thereby, subject to proviso for redemption
