    i) Joseph Dell, Whipsnade, farmer ii) Daniel [David superimposed in pencil] Batchelor, Dagnall, Hertfordshire, farmer reciting will of John Sutton, Market Street, Caddington, Hertfordshire, by which he devised to his nephew, i), all his property in Whipsnade and Totternhoe, in occupation of William Birchmore to be held by i) for life with power to lease for no more than 21 years after death of i) a messuage in Whipsnade called Ouchins in occupation of undertenants of William Birchmore, and also all leasehold land sold to John Sutton by Thomas Edmonds, was devised to heir of i) for remainder of long term of years other property wherein William Birchmore dwelt and land, in Whipsnade, which John Sutton purchased of William Tomlin and wife Alice, were devised after death of i) to heir of i) i) leases to ii) … leasehold and freehold property of i) in Whipsnade and Totternhoe which was devised to him by will of John Sutton except for wood etc. term: 21 years rent: £70 per annum various covenants as to husbandry
