Describes York Races, which was not as good as last year, due to a low attendance, less dancing and bad behaviour, “Sir J. Shelley [and] Colonel Mather ...got drunk after supper, and broke the windows of Lady Marlborough.” Mentions cockfighting and betting on the horses. Also mentions Mr Place embarked for India, and Frederick attending Richmond Races.
