I) Thomas Clifton of Carlton, lacemaker and wife Mary II) Thomas Lucas, Carlton, yeoman reciting deed 1 January 1666 between i) Edward West, Carlton, yeoman ii) Joan Woodham, Carlton, widow, sister of i) Demise for 99 years by i) to ii) a plot of ground where she could build a house … piece of ground in the Moore end in Carlton being part of a ley extending in length 4 perches bounded East [by] ground of John Warner West, dowager Countess of Peterborough North, Carlton Moor reciting assignment 9 March 30 Charles II [1677/8] by Joan Woodham to Edith Woodham her daughter; and that Edith Woodham married William Woolston, who afterwards married Mary, now the wife of Thomas Clifton, who by deed poll dated 13 December 1714 granted to Mary all his chattels, and reciting that Thomas and Mary Clifton are possessed of another piece or plot of ground containing 8 poles adjoining the piece before mentioned whereon a house is now erected Demise by I) to II) for remainder of term in consideration £15 … plot of ground with house and buildings for remainder of term Witnesses: Samuel Massynger (?), William Glynn
