Stedman returned from Paris. Mr. St. Paul sends the worst account possible of poor Lockhart. Great Gala over, everyone back to Madrid straight after Court or Dinner over. Madame Bejar gone to Valencia to see her brother who is suffering with a contusion on his breast from Algiers. Fritz's plain work shirts in the post. Grantham not keen on plain work. Therese's accounts of little John delightful. His picture not unlike Nanny but many see resemblance to Grantham.
