    Cowper is dead. Has taken measures to procure Topcliffe for Waddilove, doesn't expect much success. Letter from the Provost, quotes a passage regarding Nanny & Therese, "loved them at first sight etc...". Intends to visit Saltram. Grantham thought him not disappointed in "making your acquaintance....notwithstanding the Partiality which he might think you described him with’’. Letters from Lord Pelham and Aunt Stainforth. Latter says little Parker is like him. Account of Lockhart alarming, anxious to hear more. Account of Toledo trip next Post. Bad account of Uncle Jemmy by their Aunt, if Grantham gets a Lump from Ireland will try to be of service to him. Lady Talbot & Lady Cecil's behaviour unaccountable. Therese's Picture; is she the Lady in the Papers who is "all grace & sensibility" and who uses the word "detestable". Must have a print.
