Bad account of poor Lady Katherine[?Pelham]. Truly concerned for the Miss Pelhams who must feel much for her. Almost angry with Draper, carrying his grumbleabout Grantham to Nanny. Thinks unexpected draught from Paris caused it. Sir J. Lambert omitted a mercier’s bill in the list he gave him. Letter from Draper saying he had advanced money to Nanny out of his salary, made Grantham warm to him again. Uncle Worsley's success, Lord Fife's disappointment [embankment at Whitehall see also L30/14/109 & L30/17/2/50 & 55]. Plan of their Parsonage [present]. May send a view. Writing letter at position of dot in no.8 in plan. Much pleased with Therese's letter about nephew. Base playing. Stedman and the butler both play fiddle, played Trios together at Madrid. Provost of Dublin coming in September. Lockhart married. Writing to the Aislabies to ask them to look over Newby [Park] and direct anything, even new planting at side of house if the old trees do not thrive. Correspondence with Maitre d'Hotel in town [in Spain] regarding new house. English [wall]paper up etc... Plans for residence at St. Ildefonso. Dining three days at the Viry's and three at home etc...
