- Production dateFrom: 1776 To: 1776
- Scope and ContentMissed a post last week, never happened since their arrival. Annual dinners; their own went off well, 35 men. The new Nuncio arrived, seems polite and sociable, but they regret the loss of their Cardinal setting off next week. Hoping to keep up regular correspondence with Tom Pelham. Portraits painted by Velasquez copied by a german studying there under Mengs. May put them in fore parlour at Whitehall or vestibule at Newby. Will probably have a dozen. Velasquez and his paintings are "the Electrical Eel of the day". New Minister coming at end of month and Grimaldi will take his leave as soon as he can. Latter will most regret leaving Aranjuez unfinished etc.
