  • Scope and Content
Rain prevented riding. Breakfast on Balm tea and bread & butter. Daily routine. Played two handed Manille instead of going to Opera. Had venison, stag and quails all shot by the King. Sir Thomas Gascoyne and Mr. & Mrs. Swinbourne on the road to Madrid. Has heard nothing of Errington since he left. Resembles new Saxon Minister. Glad their pictures are safely delivered to Draper. Same painter did Masin. Fritz speaks highly of latter who saw a good deal of the Hydes when he was in London. Madame Viry has sent good accounts of their fetes at Paris
