Thanks for Almanack. Not sorry Nanny staying at Saltram until leaving for Town for winter. Imprudent of Pelhams to go into new house at this time of year. Would like to know what the alterations at Stanmer will be. Lord Pelham would approve houses in Madrid, easily altered as inside walls are only plaister. Looking forward to purse arriving. Continues to lose at Loo. Play not much higher than in England, not a shilling a kick. Dined at French Ambassador’s. Pot pourris [confusion? -not specified]about his dining at the Viry's. Mr. du Visme (brother to du Visme who was there) sent Grantham from Lisbon a print of Marquis Pombal, first Minister of Portugal. Drawn sitting on terrace on banks of Tagus with plans of buildings designed, or built, since earthquake. River, shipping & Jesuits done by Vernet. Enjoyed account of nephew. The Infant has teeth but does not eat pudding. Not yet weaned.
