  • Scope and Content
Glad she arrived at Saltram safely. Mr. Robert's death must have been a greater loss to the Pelhams. Grantham received letter from Mr. C. Townshend setting them at ease about Lord Fife's intended addition to his garden. Describes rides around St. Ildephonso. The King has sent them a haunch of venison, will ask Mr. Brunier to dress it plain. Also have trout, and a fish from Galicia, something between a trout and a salmon. Excellent mouton. Sitio thin & theatre dull. Livens up next week for Gala. Needs to choose a coat for the King's Day in November. Mourning today for the late King Ferdinand. Accession of the reigning King is a feast.
