- Scope and ContentDined at the Viry's. Both recovered. House handsomely furnished, much English furniture. Damask yellow. Eldest son of Duque Dossuna [D'Ossuna] died. Aged about 18. True Grandee in figure, good and amiable character. Younger brother was soon to have been married to Mademoiselle Benavente, his first cousin, with £30,000 a year. She was destined for youngest son in order to make two families, and that the name Benavente might be kept up. It was said that the death of the eldest brother would have prevented the match, but it is thought to go ahead as the couple like each other. Not likely to pick up anything of worth to go into great room at Saltram.
