Sir James Grant and a son from Richmond School have been there a week. Brought a bad cold with him. Make use of his cover as he waits for Lady Grant and Mrs. Mackenzie to meet him from Edinburgh. Waddilove's journeys to London and East Riding postponed a little. Waddilove to marry Mr. Browne to Miss Barrington, middle of May. Heard from Tom [Waddilove], very well. Obliged for their offer of accommodation. Taylor is still in Town. Norton Bill presumably proceeding without difficulty. Lawrence gives great opposition to the Ripon one. Brief history of latter Bill. Mayor Beckwith, Hassell, Dr. Harrison, Mrs. Allanson mentioned.
