- Scope and ContentHis charity of two guineas was received and added to common stock for coals. Distribution of corn made this morning. The Mayor goes out of Office tomorrow sennight, Robinson's namesake his successor. Mr. Horner said an application had been made for the poor to Sir J.G.[Grantley?] and Lawrence but no answer received. Mrs. Allanson's charity is without limitation, £25 the sum first mentioned. Sir Thomas Slingsby and Mr. Kyte have agreed, except some delicacy about Tom, Sir Thomas wanted them specified rather than left to his generosity. Assistance to Mrs. Kyte, "notwithstanding the Child in the Cradle and various Calls, if 2 Gns. Will not discredit Mr. Batts List, I think I can spare that.....2. Compliments to Mr. And Mrs. Weddell, tell them how Mrs. W[Waddilove] is etc... Basket [containing game] good for nothing unless he is in Town and wants a "Btle of Asg/qubufae".
