General comment on the Peace. Received twenty pounds [see next letter]. Flood damage at Newby Park, kitchen garden wall down. Money for the Poor. Added to the Topcliffe Subscription £3.3.0., from Lord and Lady Grantham and F. Robinson. To the Asenby poor £1.1.0., Mr. Copeland and Mr. Rockcliffe to distribute. At best a guinea to go to the Rainton poor, obtains list on Monday. Other Townships with no subscription will have to be dealt with otherwise F. Robinson's Colleague [Lawrence] allowed himself to be thanked at York, paragraph in York Paper will expose him. Dr. Kennicott's letter to be returned, has no patience with him, will not answer it in a hurry. Doesn't understand his reference to Don Juan Pacheco. Waddilove's little boy better. Diego's plan to return to the Havannah. Munro, Mr. Duff and the Ambassador mentioned. Frederick Robinon's assistance in London requested. Recommends Diego lets Joyes draw from Madrid most of the money Waddilove forced him to save. New Mayor. Entertainment tomorrow, Waddilove not attending as it's Sunday. Will send card and Frederick Robinson's subscription. Supposes he would not have heard from that shabby "F. Dr. Kt" if there was no Peace.
