Thanks for his letter, agrees with his actions [not specified] but not with those of his colleagues "notwithstanding the Church of Ripon is so ill represented at present by Dr. W. And Mr. W., some attention, and with Propriety, is due to it in Ripon School Business". The Recorder dined yesterday, thinks the Dean's success doubtful, Sir F.N.[?] must thinks so too. Southwell Living; wishes the Dean could have got it if it would have taken him from Ripon. Nothing heard from Batt, thinks he is invited. Clapham and Laborder leave today. Waddilove and wife hoping to visit Newby Monday or Tuesday next week. Respects to the Granthams. Little girl nearly well. Tell Grantham Mr. Hawes has withdrawn his application, should have know the Office was likely to be given to those who knew it's Business. Arrangements for sending a letter of Mrs. W's [Waddiloves]. Hutchinson mentioned.
