    Mr. Wilbraham's books and marbles. Shadwell took a set of the latter to England for him. Books in case no.1 can be delivered to him. Charges; Carriage to Bilbao 14 shillings, freight to England seven shillings plus his share of duties etc... Mr. [Tom] Pelham's two cases weighed nine Arobes, 7 at 12 Rs.Vs. to Bilboa, freight 1 shillings. Mr. Shadwell's three cases, 21 arobes and 20???, their freight £1.8.0. Sancha's Velasquez's Prints, were they delivered to White's free of duty? Mr. Lort's Maps, Title page in case 14. Bishop of Peterboro's (John Hinchliffe?) application via Mr. Lort for information about the Negros. Other similar applications made to Grantham. Galvez has promised every Ordinance, Codula, etc...they have upon the subject. Their R's [Reverences?] are mistaken if they think there is anything new in the matter, perhaps they have been reading Dr. Robertson [History of America] and have confused Indians with negros, "the Agents or Managers of the Negros amongst the English, French or even Spds. Ought all to be hand'd....". [Lengthy and detailed information follows for use whilst Grantham's enquiries are put into a proper form for presentation to the Bench of Bishops]. Compomanes says the Spanish treat their negros better than the England or French do. Comparisons are made. Don Jacinto Barretto named specifically living at the Havannah, a Caballero de Horea y enchillo, exercising the Law obliging the master to sell his negro at the original price upon proof of ill usage, too much work or too little victuals, also described. Has the case [?care] of young Hazlewood and is agent or partner perhaps in the House of Messrs. Wm. Rabne & Crisoz in Joigners Buildings upper Thames Street. Seguier probably knows him, he is Swiss, an acquaintance of Delapierre. Edict of the Comercio libre. Last Academy Premios and Ortega upon the Aguas de Trillo; water recommended to Grantham by Don Philipe Oconory. Mr. Plunket, a nephew of Noble's brings another copy of Comercio libre for Dr. Robertson through Cadell. Algoroba seeds for Mr. Browne. Arrangements for Sallusts, exchange with Storer for Bible, Bayer's present. [On separate sheet] Compliments to the Bishop of Oxford. White can supply him with Spanish books ro Waddilove will execute commissions. Are the seventh and eighth volumes of Ponz, sent by Mr. Wilkie and Las Casas by Mr. Kerr, at Whitehall?
