    Grantham well. Brodeirs wrote of the ship sailing on 21st September, cases of books on board. Hopes Manuel's Cargo safe. Has bought Colonna's Tacitus for 70 Rs. Vm. For Mr. [Tom] Pelham and a compleat B. Casas for himself, three times as dear. Buying Sepulveda and Don Quixote for F. Robinson. Continuing Ponz's Viage and Trajes Espans, for Mr. Pelham, cannot send the three new ones by Mr. Kerr. Mr. Wilkie left the rest of the books with Mr. Browne. Aston's Observations for the Museum sent to Robinson. Seventh and eights volumes Ponz to be put in Martin's case for Mr. Crispin. Portugal Treaties add to Waddilove's books. Parcel of seeds by Mr. Kerr, white beet divide between Saltram, Stanmer and Newby. Has seen two more prints of Cruz's viz. Pedro Romero and Joachim Costillares. Has no patience with Cruz.
