'...I believe the custom was to take out these policies at birth to provide the child with a decent funeral it is died in infancy. In fact three of the six children of this marriage died in infancy - hence the anxiety in those days. Mr Kuchlicke was a Master Craftsman in leather in the West End making for Mappin and Webb etc (letter from Mr Hutchins, 3 March 1980)
