Stopped at Lord Boringdon's, he had had Mr. Coffin, Mr. Martin and Captain Pole to dinner. Boringdon had sent for [Dr.] Warren in the night having lost blood, was immediately blooded. From thence to Lady Grey's. Lord Hardwick unwell, also blooded today. Sir James called whilst Grantham was gone to a near four hours session at Council. This evening he was at the House of Lords in a Division. Hopes there will be no confusion in the streets tonight, "low and ill looking people are about them". Shops shut all day. Lord George has been busy, Ministers and Police prepared. Longs for the time when he and Lady Grantham can cultivate their friendship with Fritz and the new Mrs. Robinson at Newby etc...
