Tom and George Pelham and he and Lady Grantham pleased by Fritz's news of his Expedition [to Newby Park], hope for his perfect recovery etc... Court full, especially as the Address from the House of Commons came up to the Throne. Met John Hart, made his acquaintance. Took the Pelham's home to dinner. Children very fond of them and behaved well. Reward for information concerning the theft at Newby [Park]. Are the Boards put up to prevent the wood being stolen. Expecting Mr. Curtis to repair the wall. Glad Mr. Mickle employed by Sir Thomas Frankland. Delighted by Captain Pole's account of Jack [nephew Parker] at Mrs. Carew's last night. Lady Yorke's family go away tomorrow, she is in great affliction. The Bishop's son is better, very ill when he came home, so low and nervous as to care for nothing and no one. Mrs. Pole well dressed today. The Admiral and Mrs. Yorke of Portland Place will be their next dinner. Bishopthorpe Party after that. Indigestion this morning, maybe owing to a vulgar thing called apple dumpling. Fritz to beware of his next Fuddle Cake.
