[Précis of King's Speech heard at Lord Sydney's?] "The Speech is very short System with Ireland upon fair and reciprocal Footing. Assurance of Good will from all Foreign Powers tho' they appear to have differences one with another. Raise the supplies, continue to suppress smuggling, study the Reports of ye Commissioners of Accounts and Oeconomy in consequence thereof in the publick Offices. This is the substance. D. Of Hamilton and Ld. Walsingham. Mr. Philips Member for Somersetshire and Mr. Edwards, whom we have seen at the Bishop of Chester's are ye Movers and Seconders".
