Scope and Content
Quarter Master Sergeant, Ernest George Mead, aged 23, and Sergeant Arthur William Mead, were serving in Gallipoli with the 1st 5th Bedfords. Lance Corporal Alfred Mead, aged 33, of the 2nd Bedfords and Corporal Frank Mead, aged 18 of the 1st Bedfords were serving in France. The eldest son, Frederick Mead, aged 36, who had served twelve years in the 1st Bedfords, much of the time in India, obtained the rank of sergeant, and was employed on the Indian Railways.
