All he says of Portugal is very true and pleasant, he is getting more sulky. Had concluded the Opposition would lay hands on Lord Chatham. Wishes he would marry Harriet. Sn. Jago by no means such a brute as Portugal, loves his wife, she behaves well to him. Her sister is to be married in Navarre. Glad the King's picture will succeed. The AlmodarAlmodovar's write of their delight at the amusements for them [in England?]. Hope Tom and Harry [Pelhams] friendship will be like their own. Pleased the little folks [niece and nephew Parker] liked his letters to them. Shadwell's situation, cannot yet be bettered etc... Perico's cousin at the King's Stables introduced Perico, saving Grantham the trouble. Fritz has been to Guildford twice, once with Lady Pelham, once with Grantham. Lady Pelham should give up any idea of sending her jewels to Spain. Longs for French Pamphlet. Attended Parejas then the Bull Feast. Dined at Valdecarzana/Valdecazana's, walked, played base, wrote. Dined at Masin's with Munro and Waddilove. Has a new Cook, best suet, hasn't opened house. His things are expected. Valdecarzana's dinner thought to be for him. The Benevente was there etc.. Gazola has a namesake and cousin with him, sent for during his illness. Rios is dead, man of learning, much regretted. The Life of Cervates was entrusted to his care, publication may be delayed. Abrantes thinks of proposing Grantham as an Honorary Member of the Academy. Nanny's account of Tom [Pelham], not good, should do something about eruptions on his face. Duchess of Arcos much better, if the waters she takes could help her have children, Arcos would be happy man. Sobral attends her. Enquires after Fritz. Prince, Princess, Infants and Infantas supped in the Spring Garden on Monday, under pretence of catching birds. Whole Sitio was in the Calle. Fine nights make Grantham melancholy etc... Masin wants a second-hand light Phaeton. To be shipped via Brodeires/Brodeirs if one found. Please answer soon as nothing was done [by Fritz] about his pannells.
