- Scope and ContentHis feelings on their separation. Went to the Pardo, on the day he left, walked out after dinner, returned with Waddilove. At the Pardo the Kind was as always, very gracious. Sac the Minister, cannot given an account here. Brief comment on Cypher. Anxious for accounts of his journey through Spain etc... Does not repent of the measures they have taken [Frederick returning to England]. God Bless for tonight. 22 March 1778 evening. Has just heard of his safe arrival of Galapagar, 10 p.m. 22 March, 10 pm. Has completed all his Office letters, written to Nanny and Draper. Dined at Masin's, went to see Fernanunez' Coach. Played until five, won five Medals. Was sent for to M. Bejar's to see a present for the Peñafil, a beautiful China table, such as he will see many of at Poisiers. No account of the Desert yet etc... Expectations of correspondence on Frederick's journey. Has sent a few lines to Vittoria through Messrs. Joyes hands. Expresses his love and affection for his brother. Waddilove sends affectionate compliments. 23 March [1778], morning.
