  • Scope and Content
Franceson returned Wednesday from Putney after dismissing Edmund, details of circumstances [original misdemeanour seems to have been writing a letter to M. Grantham]. Cannot refuse him a Character if he keeps his word of not troubling her again etc.. Gives her an opportunity of looking for new Footmen, Charles may expect one position but he is two young. The Coachman's asthmatic complaint makes it doubtful he will be well enough to drive her in the Winter. May part with Foulston at the same time, dissatisfied with him as he didn't send a good Coach horse in the summer as promised. May use the Man who provides her father's horses [not named]. Boys seem well. Philip's worms have not reappeared. Details of how they are being spoilt by Grandmama. Thomas seated by her at Church in an Armchair in the middle of a Gallery for the family. Asks for F. Robinson's ideas on education as she can go no father. Enclosure from Tom [not present]. Hope Mrs. R's [Robinson's] finger cured. La Pierre's Marriage, why have they done it? Did Seare [Siere/Sierre?] know? Compliments from her sister [Amabel]. P.S. Please send some wine sours, will pay him when in London.
