  • Scope and Content
Has agreed to take the Parliament Street house although it is larger and dearer than she wanted; 20 guineas per month. The unfurnished house would have cost 80£ and the hire of the furniture at least 25£. Justifies her decision further but very anxious about what Frederick will think. Mention of Lady Elliott being the owner of Frederick's present above. Mrs. Stainforth gives a favourable account of the King. The Prince of Wales has been ill and blooded twice but is better and well behaved. Hopes of the King's full recovery. Harry Pelham's "foolish" behaviour in marrying Miss Cobb. Lord and Lady Pelham have forgiven them and asked them to Stanmer etc... Miss Cobb's "violent" hurry to be married goes against her. Mr. H. Ley has sent her the 100£ [Theresa's maintenance?]. Making plans for London now. Frederick should write to Crighton immediately if he disapproves of Parliament Street and look out for another for her. Owes Mrs. Robinson a letter but doesn't want to trouble her with trivialities such as Housemaids and Cooks, anyway has a very good Cook who is a careful servant.
