- Scope and ContentNo return of Lord Boringdon's fever and little Girl and Anne's colds gone. Propose setting out for Town at end of April. Mild weather, fruit trees in full blossom, too forward. Terrible wind yesterday, 'The Druid' was in imminent danger, expected to be on shore any minute under Haddon Height, saved by cutting away the main mast. Captain Ellison and most of crew were onshore. Distress guns heard at breakfast, worried that it might have been Captain Pole who'd gone to Fowey in 'The Fairy'. Mrs. Robinson is too good to Jack allowing him to go to the Opera even when she doesn't go herself. Sorry Lady Robinson has so much trouble with her niece, "saw it in papers, " supposed it had been with her consent, and thought that if she disposes of a niece every year, having plenty of them she would never want a Companion". Heard Mr. J. Robinson is disappointed at not having Mr. J. Pitt's place and that it is to be abolished. Sure Lady Sydney and Miss Mary [Pelham] thought their party an agreeable one. Lord Pelham will not know what to do without his parties with the Princess.
