- Scope and ContentThanks for his early and full intelligence respecting the Irish Pension "I am extremely glad it is in so fair a way of succeeding...convinced of the propriety of the measure". Ready to sign anything necessary with respect to 6000£, supposes the Funds the best security. Glad to find Lord Hardwicke so liberally disposed at present. Wishes he could hear of something good from Mr. Pitt, plenty to be had in the Law or Church at present if Frederick had not given up his profession or was fitted for the Church. Enclosing a letter from Mrs. Robinson from Little Girl [not present]. Hope their colds are gone. Lord Boringdon surprisingly well. Received the new Pamphlet and like it except the part about Lord Rodney. Mr. H. Ley returning to Exeter with Jack on Wednesday or Thursday. Latter goes on to Hammersmith. Captain Pole went to Sir William Molesworth's on Saturday. Jack at a loss without him, thinks he would rather be near London at this time of year. Sorry he has only seen Mr. Ley in the House of Commons, hoped he would have called. Mr. H. Ley says Mrs. G. Hardinge is no better, they offered to visit and help but have heard nothing. Sir James and Lady Caroline Graham have taken a small house near Exeter, to save money. Colonel Fox is at Exeter with his Regiment and Mrs. Fox.
