- Scope and ContentLord Boringdon continues mending, keeping strictly to his diet. Tell Grantham that he answered Jem Worsley's letter but the latter sailed before the letter got to Falmouth, letter and order for honey returned, no need to write to Boldero. Archbishop of Canterbury (John Moore) has been at Mount Edgecumbe, came to see Saltram on the way back. Captain Hope came with them. Viewed House and garden etc... They are now at Lord Lisburn's. Lady Sydney complains of rain and great storms near London. The Miss Pelhams are very happy with Mr. Watson's match with Miss Milles. Supposes latter to be Old Milles daughter. Lady Catham [Chatham?] hasn't received so much benefit from Buxton as she expected etc. Mr. Hamlyn, his son and daughter and Miss Byfield have been there for three days. Gone to Kitley today. Lord Bovingdon did not put himself out for them, breakfasted and dined upstairs as usual. Sorry for the bad account of young Mr. Lawrence. Jack says Frederick owes him a letter. Glad to hear Mrs. Robinson is so great a walker. Anne's favourite exercise. Expecting Mr. Ley tomorrow, many years since he had the courage to come.
