Impatient for a letter as she's heard via Jack that Grantham hasn't been well. Jack at Lord Gower's today. Some of the boys at Hammersmith have had Chicken Pox, thinks Jack had it at two. Lady Gower very kind to offer to take him home when she sent for Leveson. Hoping Mr. H. Ley bringing Jack down at end of term. Dreadful weather, hay in shocking condition. Letter from Lady Pelham upon an "Elephantick subject and nothing else". Frederick's correspondent turns out very bad. Thought her note to Frederick a good example of her impertinence. Has sent a letter open by the little Girl that surpasses anything she ever read, she is going immediately and Anne has applied to Mrs. M. Townshend about the person she mentioned to Lady Pelham [?referring to Theresa's Governess see L 30/15/50/56]. Hopes Cup arrived at Newby in good condition. Mr. Ivey wrote word about how badly it was damaged going to Exeter. Jeffery and Jones sent it down without a case. Mr. Radcliffe older than ever. Mr. and Mrs. Bastard expected after the Assizes. House and Place won't be ready for them. Lord Boringdon continues well.
