Aunt Stainforth says Aunt Jemmy has got a house for nothing within a mile of Sir William St. Quintin's and is going to leave Grantham. Dined at Mr. Bastard's with Mr. and Mrs. Mun. Latter not pretty, only gets her fortune when she comes of age in two years time, then only for life unless she has children. Lady Pelham wrote "upon Lord Chatham proposing" but believes she wrote more for the sake of putting her in mind of the diamonds etc...,can't do anything as she values them too high. Accounts of Lady Mildeton/Midleton surprisingly good, disapproves of her coming to Town to buy summer clothes however. House [of Commons]; much opposition expected to the £100,000 establishment. They have sent for everybody, even Sir Charles Davers is come. Full today on Mr. Pitt's reform bill. Mr. Parker went down on Mr. Perings business but as it didn't come on came away with everyone else when Mr. Burck[sic] got up. Dining at Devonshire House on Friday. Duke's invitation through Mr. Parker. Will remember to ask Duchess who made the Bench. Hasn't been out of the house since Thursday, bad weather and Lady Sydney more engaged than usual with Lady Harriet Pitt. Also Boy at home all week. Lord Hardwick had a relapse, better now. Supposes Newby more improved than he expected and Tom [nephew] beginning to talk etc.
