    Lord and Lady Lincoln there for four days, sorry to go, coming back this week. The Reviews will be after that. The Turtle has arrived, big enough for 20 or more. The Lary is to be fished in the morning. Planning a trip up the Tamer the next day. Mr. Parker lame but the General will not give him leave. Sorry for John Benham, his wife will be a great loss to his children. Hopes her brother [assume Grantham] will be able to provide for him. Think of Mr. Ivey for any other vacancies, no one rides Post better. Shocking accident of the Royal George [letter interrupted, no further details]. 1 September. Dined at Plympton House yesterday, they have a better Cook and live better than last year. Lord Duncannon draws well and have taken several views of and from the House. Particularly beautiful one from the Green house. Mr. Coxe dined today, well considering his late situation but very altered in speech, manner and looks. 2 September 1782.
