To be buried in parish church of Arlesey
to wife Elinor
- all marriage apparal, jewels, use of linen, furniture etc. in his house at Arlesey, if she remains there, being her jointure
to son Richard
- house and contents after death of Elinor
to 3rd son John
- £100 to be paid within 5 years of his death
to 4th son Jasper, now a scholar at Westminster
- £100 to be paid within 3 months of his taking his MA degree at Oxford or Cambridge
to 5th son Lawrence
- £100 at 24
to 6th son Francis
- £100 at 24, which upon the indenture of marriage of my son Thomas he is to pay in such manner as therein is appointed to be paid unto him
to sons-in-law Robert Page, esquire and Robert Devenish, gentleman in trust to use of sons Lawrence and Francis
- Lease of house and land lately purchased of Sir Oliver and Samuel Luke and William Buckby, clerk, in names of Lawrence and Francis to be equally divided between them: the profits are to be used by executor for education of Lawrence and Francis
to son-in-law Robert Devenish
- furniture etc. in his chambers in London and in his own house (except wearing apparel which is to go to son John)
to grandchildren Ellinor Devenish, Marie Devenish, Elizabeth Devenish and Katherine Devenish
- £50 each at 18
if any children sue uncle Jasper Underwood for legacies they are to receive no benefits
to poor of Arlesey and Henlow
- £5 each within next two years as executor thinks fit
Richard Taylor of Clapham, esquire, who penned this will, is to settle disputes about its interpretation.. He is to have 40s to buy a ring, and his servant William Doughtie 20s to buy a ring
Lease of Manor of Arlesey and of Fuller's Farm are included among leases left to his son and heir
