Arrived safely. Letters from Spain have been of great service. Monsieur de Sa very civil and has shown him all the best Conservazionis in Naples. Monsieur de Clermont very ill, hasn't been out. Sir T. Gascoyne and Mr. Swinbourne have abandoned their journey to Sicily, formerly ill on road. Sir Thomas recommends Castor oil. Comparison of Genoa and Naples. Went to top of Vesuvius. Two small Theatres open. Great Theatre not open until the 30th. Empress's birthday, Ball at Court. Going to Portici with Monsieur de Sa. Awaiting commissions for Rome and Grantham's decision about Bottle Pales. Compliments to Waddilove and Shadwell. Mr. D'Hinisdall sends his also.
