  • Scope and Content
Sir Edward Hales and Lady (?wife or mistress) on Road to Madrid. Met them at Castejon de la Pland on a slight English Vis-a-Vis, no precautions for Spanish travelling, helped them with arrangements for mules. Has given Mayoral a memorandum of what is owing to his Master and taken liberty of ordering him to wait upon Robinson with it. Figures in Reals given. In part of payment he will pay for silks at Barcelona and pay for any commissions for Lyons etc.. Sorry to part with old Coachman, mentions a few accidents. Ancient Saguntum remains, only thing of note seen since Valentia. Thanks for Grantham's letter. Flattered by any notice from Mr. Wall. Glad to hear Robinson rich etc.. Perillo the worst Pasada in Spain. New one being built. Fears his plan to go to Monserrat may not happen. Compliments to Waddilove and Shadwell.
