- Scope and ContentArrived Friday. Left Cadis[sic] on Wednesday 13th a few minutes after the Admiral of the Fleet. Dined with Mr. Hardy's Family at the Island. Arrived at Chiclana in the evening, saw who expedition out of the Bay. The Corregidor showed the greatest civilities etc.. Captain Vignol, who set out for England this morning, impatient for news of the Spanish Fleet sailing. The Governor at the new works has put them under the care of the friend Mr. Beard, who has begun to show them the Lyons of the Garrison. English Frigate and Dutch man of Warr[sic] in the Bay. Mr. Conway Lieutenant in former, Messrs. Lumley and Pitt midshipmen. Malaga on Saturday with Waddilove and his friend Mr. Duff. Mr. Marsh has a packet for them. Heard at the Lines, Grimaldi resigned. He has given Pelham letters from Don Raphael Daza Loaisa y Osorio Comano, General de Campo de San Roque, not known at San Roque or at the Lines. Also one for Mendoza. Compliments to Grantham. Beard sends regards. P.S. Assure Duchess of Medina Sidonia how much he appreciates the Corregidors many attentions.
