'My dear Sir,
I am much obliged by your note, and shall be further obliged by your assistance in recommending my best Dog for Sale. He is a very good one. Mr Langley who Broke him says he is worth ten pounds but I shall be satisfied with 5. If you think it will be best to set so low a price but I leave with you to say. If you prefer it, the Dog (Rolla) shall be sent over to your house any day you please or if you would not like that the Gentleman can see him at any time at my house and I shall not ask more unless you think I ought.
