- Scope and ContentAssumes he is in Bath. Letters may be delayed due to Bath, Exeter roads being impassable. Severe weather now changed. Great quantity of snow nearly gone. Hope Mrs. Robinson may bathe in the find mild weather, the bath has been prepared and her favourite pony has been ordered to be taken up. Mr. Andrewes may meet them at Bath on his way from Leicester. Advise about their journey to Exeter, route etc.. Sir John Goodricke and Robinson in the papers at last. Supposes former belonged to the Privy Council of the late King. Sir Hyde Packer [Parker] came to Plymouth yesterday, Saltram today. Prince William likewise to Plymouth. Prince of Wales and Duke of York intended to come and see him and take up their headquarters at Saltram, cancelled when the found that Lord Boringdon was not in a situation to receive them etc... Captain Pole intends giving entertainment on board the Crown to the Robinsons. Hope Sir Joshua [Reynolds] may paint the little boys. Glad James Harris free from his chilblains. Will Richard Worsley return to the Crown? All his belongings are at Saltram in Parker's custody. Mr. Ley took 12 hours from Bridport to Exeter. Very tired.
