  • Scope and Content
Received his letter enclosing that of Lord Aylesbury. Glad their Majesties satisfied with reception and accommodation at Saltram. Lord Boringdon's expenses at Oxford. Henry Ley will send drafts on Child [Childs and Co.] when required. Assumes £400 per annum sufficient. Advise as to how Mr. Andrewes money would be remitted to him. Letter from Mr. Hatsell, who has paid his respects to F. Robinson. His account with respect to Lord Robinson gives Ley great satisfaction. Venison list sent to Saltram. Mrs. Siddons takes everyone’s attention. Marquis of Buckingham at Teignmouth. Mr. Palk and Lady Mary are come to Haldon, he seems to have made a good choice in her, Sir Robert [Palk] seems well pleased with his new daughter. Old Mr. Trehawke is dead, one of their principal mortgagees, who agreed to make some Interest principal, his representatives are a mother in law who lives near Exeter, a very infirm man and some people called Kekovich in Islington. No expectation of trouble. Major Pering troubled about Regimental clothing, the man threatens to bring an Action against him. Strange that Mr. Rolle will not take them from 'us', fears they must pay for them. Miss Robinson will tell him [Robinson] about it. Asks his opinion.
