Meeting arranged [L30/15/18/3] took place. All unfinished works viewed, indoors and out (except Stone Quarry at Holm Bank]. Gave directions for those deemed absolutely necessary for safety .. Elizabeth Foulkes & Mary Milner; maids, discharged. Former will stay a little longer at her own expense, begs that Lady Grantham, who brought her from London, will pay for her return journey. No rents to be received on Committee account until Christmas. Few tenants have paid at Roclife [sic]. Accounts enclosed until 31 July 1786 [present]. Thomas Smith sold 27 sheep & 24 lambs at Topcliff [sic] Fair, 100 sheep remaining.
